The last of the pomegranates

Last night, Maus and I watched the last stage of the Tour de France and we felt a real affinity with the riders.  We acknowledged how weary they must have been after all the stages they had endured.   We could understand the pain of the mountain climbs and the disappointments when team mates fell.  We, too, had survived an endurance for we were down to our last bucket of pomegranates. Pomegranate Molasses

Ok, I know everyone must be sick of pomegranate recipes but I thought I would do one last post as pomegranate molasses is often called for in recipes and many wouldn’t know how easy it is to make.

This recipe comes from the beautiful book, Purple Citrus and Sweet Perfume by Silvena Rowe.  The only tricky bit to it is timing.  Make sure you take it off the heat before you have pomegranate toffee. Continue reading
