Doc’s Salmon Patties

IMG_3255 copy

Salmon patties are having a bit of a revival lately.  They are even back on the menu in chic little lunch bars.

We are big on salmon patties in this household.  They are one of Maus’ specialties and Maus doesn’t have many specialities ….

When Maus was doing all the cooking, after she retired and I was still working, we had salmon patties a lot …   Anyway, that is by the way.

Maus makes her salmon patties with potato; so did my mum and so do the chic little lunch bars referred to above, so when the Doc posted a recipe for salmon patties that didn’t include potatoes, I was a wee bit interested.  I showed Maus the recipe and a couple of days later she was on to it.

They were very tasty and held their shape well so, if you are a bit of a salmon patty fan and usually make them out of mashed potato, check out the Doc’s recipe for something different.  Here is the link.

For those who don’t know, cilantro is coriander and Doc’s tablespoons are 15 mils not 20 mils.  Maus used a 425g tin of salmon in brine.

    • Louise, I wonder whether the potato is an Australian thing. I have never had salmon patties without potato until we had these. I think chives and sweet chili sauce would be a fab alternative.
